The coaches at Croga CrossFit come from diverse athletic backgrounds and experience, but they all have one thing in common, they care.

Their passion and commitment to helping you achieve your personal fitness goals is what separates us from other gyms. We know every member and their fitness goals, and strive to provide the training, education, support and motivation to meet these goals.

As a coaching staff, we are committed to pursuing excellence and pushing you to thrive, not just survive. We are invested in taking care of you and take pride in helping you to enjoy life. We are in the business of getting you prepared for any obstacle or task life may throw at you.

David Musgrave

David was born and raised in the south Bay Area, attended Bellarmine College Prep (Go Bells!) and graduated from Fresno State with a BS in Construction Management. He grew up playing competitive soccer, loves snowboarding (despite the injury which left him with a gnarly scar on his forearm) and enjoys traveling the world. He gets a kick out of trying new things and having unique experiences, like a NASCAR race in 2009 and Oktoberfest in 2012. David was thrown into the world of CrossFit in 2008 and since then, he has competed in local competitions and joined WODs with some of the best athletes in boxes all over the world. In 2017 he was 18th in Northern California in The CrossFit Games Open and finished 34th at the California Regional as an Individual Athlete. As a dedicated and driven individual, he is always looking for new ways to accomplish a task and push the envelope. David is the owner and head coach at Croga CrossFit.

Kelly Musgrave

Kelly Musgrave can’t remember a time when she didn’t participate in team sports. Kelly has played competitive soccer and softball since she was four years old. She graduated cum laude in 3.5 years from San Jose State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. She has dedicated her professional career to the tech public relations industry and is extremely proud of her nerdy tendencies. Kelly was introduced to CrossFit by David in 2010 and never looked back at her old globo gym ways. She constantly looks for ways to push her fitness: Races, triathlons, cycling and yoga. Kelly is a General CrossFit, Mobility and Rebelle Fitness coach. In 2012, Kelly created Rebelle Fitness, the women’s only strength and conditioning program at Croga CrossFit.

Cody Rubel

As the oldest of three brothers Coach Cody’s job growing up was to set the path for his younger brothers and to make sure he never let them get the best of him ;). He was a multi-sport athlete in High School, playing Football, Basketball and Golf, which gave him a well rounded view and background in fitness.

Along with his brother PJ, aka “The Brother’s Rubel”, he found CrossFit in 2011 and immediately fell in love with the challenge that each day presented and also how great it was having a supportive community of like minded athletes helping you along and cheering for you to be successful in your pursuit of improved fitness and health.

After a few years of using CrossFit for personal growth, Cody realized that he loved being a leader and helping those newer to CrossFit learn and reach their personal goals. He decided to pursue a certification in CrossFit and the rest is history.

He has been coaching full time for since 2014 and is extremely passionate about coaching athletes through workouts and teaching them new skills and techniques.

Preston Rind

Preston is our strongest coach (355 lb power clean). He is a native of the Santa Cruz Mountains and a graduate of Santa Clara University. He was introduced to CrossFit by one of his high school football coaches, Neal Maddox (4-time CrossFit Games Competitor), and became fully immersed in our sport in March of 2012. Preston is an accomplished athlete in both football and baseball and is becoming the same in the sport of CrossFit. He knows the meaning of hard work, he lives on a Christmas tree farm and spends countless hours each December cutting down trees and loading them onto families cars, he enjoys the outdoors, longboarding and hiking are two of his favorite activities, and he loves to eat then sleep, in that order.

Jill Parker

Jill, a former data cruncher that was stuck in an office all day, is now a stay-at-home mom of two energetic kids. She found Cróga CrossFit a couple of years ago and quickly became one of our evening and weekend regulars. Cróga Murph

Murph is our fierce guard dog that greets all visitors with a sniff, a few licks if he likes you and maybe a stare at his cookies to see if they’ll give him one. He’s a French Bulldog that was born April 19th, 2013 and he’s been at the gym nearly every day since we got him. He loves to say hello and goodbye to all our members throughout the day and snores his way through most WODs. We couldn’t ask for a better gym dog and we hope he brightens your day when you come to class.
