Tues 2/11/14:
Still pretty sore from this weekend, my lower back is feeling a little weak and sore, but nothing I haven’t pushed through before. Slept well last night and felt mentally rejuvenated this morning.

A. Front Squat – 7 x 3; rest 3min (heavy)
Completed: 185-225-255-275-295(2)-285(1)-255
I made the jump straight to 295 from 275 because my 3RM for front squat is 295, so I wanted to match it. After I failed the 3rd rep, I think I just didn’t recover in time to hit the 285. The first rep of 295 felt good, I hit the sticking point on rep 2, but pushed past it and just didn’t feel right on the 3rd rep.

B. Deficit Deadlift – 4 x 3; rest 2min (heavy)
Completed: 315-335-355-365
A little awkward standing on 35 lb plates, but for the most part this wasn’t too bad. I’ve never done this before, so I was happy that I was able to pull 365 from the deficit. I’ll probably shoot for 385 next time.

C. Push Press – in 4-5 sets, build to 5RM
Completed: 165-195(4)-185-190
I didn’t realize that 195 for 5 reps was going to be as hard as it was, otherwise I would’ve gone to 185 first. I made 4 reps though and if I hadn’t push jerked the 4th rep that I didn’t count, I think I could’ve made it for 5.

D. Strict HSPU – 50 reps for time
Completed – 6:07
This was hard, but not impossible. I did sets of 5 for awhile, then switched to 3-2, then did singles for the final 5 reps.
