Wed 6/25/14:
Still felt sore in the morning from Sunday’s competition. Quads are super smoked, but upper body feels good, so this work went fine.

A. Split Jerk – 1 rep @ 205-225# every 30sec for 12 reps (work off blocks)
These were good. First time using the jerk blocks. I need to do a little work on them so they don’t jump so much. The split jerks went well and I never really struggled. If we do this again I think it should be heavier. Video below:

B. Power Clean x1 + Push Jerk x3 – 5 heavy sets of the complex; rest 3min
These were good. Wrist felt fine and power cleans were good considering my legs are still crushed. I needed to push my head through better on the 245 lb push jerks and that’s what caused me to fail. Videos below:

C. Clean Grip Deadlift x2 + Clean Grip RDL @2020 x2 – 5 heavy sets of the complex; rest 2min
These were good. Hamstrings were super sore, but I was able to pick the weight up well and keep my lower back form. Grip was the limiting factor, it felt like I was going to rip off my thumb. Videos below:

I rowed about a 1:33, which I think might’ve been a few seconds too fast. I was pretty smoked when I got to the KB and had to do 3 sets of 10. The burpees were fast and my time was 4:59. Video below:
