DWM Wed 6/4/14

Tues 6/3/14:
I felt good in the morning and decided to join Kelly for a spin class at her work around lunch time. The class was hard and a lot longer than I’m used to, but I think it was good for my legs.

Wed 6/4/14:
Slept about 6.5 hours last night and woke up feeling good this morning. No leftover tightness or soreness from Monday and no fatigue from spin yesterday. I was a little nervous because I’d never done spin before, but it appears that I managed my output well so that I’m not feeling it today. My left wrist has been bugging me since I dropped one of those power cleans on Monday, so I just cranked down on my strength wrap today to lock it in place while I did the pressing. I’m just glad I didn’t have to do any push press or push jerk multiples because there’s no way that would happen.

A. Shoulder Press – build to 1RM; rest as needed
This was a little disappointing because I tied my PR, but couldn’t quite lock out 180 or 185. The press at 175 felt good and pretty easy, so that’s why I jumped straight to 185. Video is below:

B. Seated Bnk Press – build to 1RM; rest as needed
This went much better than the standing shoulder press. I made a 10 lb PR here for a max of 150 lbs. Nothing really to report, videos are below:

50 Kipping HSPU for time
This was good too. I came out hot and the my shoulder muscle endurance was good. I finished in 3:19, which is 27 seconds faster than last time. Video is below:
