You’ve probably heard it a million times, “everything in moderation.”

In my opinion these are words to live by.

It’s a slogan that needs to be considered when making any decision, good ones and, dare I say it, bad ones, dun Dun DUUUUNNNNN.

Bear with me here…

Of course I want everyone to eat healthy, workout at least 5 days a week, sleep 8-10 hours a night, take all the right supplements on a daily basis, and stretch for 30-60 minutes a day.

However, I also realize that we’re all human and doing all these things consistently 365 days a year would neither be fun nor exciting.

So to keep it short and sweet, my post today is one to encourage you to do everything in moderation, even the good things.

And to go along with this, make sure when you do “live a little”, stay in control and don’t let the bad or negative behavior snowball.

When you are on a healthy eating kick, but your friend invites you out to dinner, enjoy a great tasting meal that someone else cooked and a drink, but make sure your breakfast the next morning is a healthy one.

When you are worn out, take a rest day, but make sure you’ve got your next workout in your calendar and be there.

When you have an opportunity to attend a movie or show with a friend that’s going to end late at night and eat into your normal sleep, GO! Just make sure you get to bed early the few days following so that you can catch up.

If you happen to not have enough time to stretch at the gym after your workout because your spouse needs help with the kids, when you put them to bed, spend some time loosening up a little while watching some TV or reading a book before bed.

Life is too short to be to strict with yourself and to not enjoy the good food, some rest, friends, family, sleep, and anything else you enjoy.

Just make sure you’re making the right decision more often than not and I can guarantee you’ll live a longer, healthier and fitter life.
