Speaking of getting better, let’s talk about motivation. It takes a strong and motivated person to log onto our website, see back squats and then 100 burpees and still show up ready to take the task on. As many of you know, I like to motivate myself by constantly trying to be better than I was the last time I performed the task at hand. That could mean setting a PR on the back squat or doing the burpees faster, but it can also mean learning a new way to stretch a joint to show our members to loosen them up before a workout, or to make a better connection with one of our athletes so that I can help push you when you’re on burpee #83 and the last thing you want to think about is doing 17 more of them.
Many of you that went through our Start Up program used your 3×5 card that says “I CrossFit because…” to make what motivates you known. To this group, I would suggest you go find this card on our bulletin board every couple months and remember what it felt like to take that first step in the door and to start CrossFit. I would like to then suggest you take notice of the awesome job you’ve done so far and focus on continuing on your path to fitness. For those that didn’t go through our Start Up program, what is your motivation? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to get stronger? Do you want to look even better in the bathing suit? Do you want to sleep better and feel energized all day? Do you want to be the best version of yourself you can be?
Drop us a line in the comments and let us know what motivates you. Then, go use that to push your limits and achieve your goals.
