Coach Spotlight: Cody

With Cody’s calm demeanor, most people wouldn’t expect him to be the guy that regularly runs large groups and spends most of his day yelling over loud music in a CrossFit gym. However, being a coach and helping others reach their goals are what Cody loves and he’s darn good at it.

He listens intently, is self-motivated and is always looking to perfect new skills in order to coach others through things they struggle with. His friendly, easy-going personality draws members in, while his attention to detail and insight on improving movement patterns commands the respect of his class. His reserved nature is not because he has nothing to say, but because he is taking it all in and is constantly looking to learn in order to be a better coach.

We really lucked out when our paths crossed with Cody’s because we not only gained an excellent coach, we added an amazing member to our community.

Full Name: Cody Rubel

Funniest or coolest Nickname?
The only nickname I can currently remember is Bug. My family calls me Cody Bug. I have no idea where it came from but if you were to hang out with me and my family you will hear them call me Bug or Cody Bug.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
I would have to say a Tiger. I was watching the new Jungle Book the other day and was wondering why Baloo (the bear) doesn’t just take the tiger out, Boom, and everybody lives happily ever after. I did some googling and found out the 9 out of 10 times a tiger would take out a bear going 1 on 1. So long story short I did comparisons and found out Tigers are Badass and can take just about anything on. So a Tiger. Also, the new jungle book has nothing on the cartoon.
