Slept well the night before and wrist continues to feel better. I felt it a little bit during the catches, but it wasn’t terrible. I was still feeling tight form the competition the Sunday before. My quads really got smoked that day.
A. Hng Squat Snatch (hip) x1 + Squat Snatch – in 5-7 sets, build to a max of the complex
These were good. I had trouble with the catch as usual, which didn’t really surprise me. We know this is one of the places that I need work.
205 (Attempt 2 Fail):
B. Front Squat @20×1 – 5 x 3; rest 3min (heavy across)
I accidentally wrote down 5×5, so I did a few extra reps the whole way. The tempo made them difficult, but I really liked being able to feel each rep.
225: No Video
265 (set 1):
265 (set 2):
265 (set 3):
I wrote these on the board wrong, we did 5×5.
C. Good Morning @20×1 – 5 x 5; rest 3min (heavy across)
I kept these light so I could really feel the hamstrings and get that explosive movement forward. I could really feel these bad boys the next day.
8 Alt DB Snatch @65# + 6 Burpees AFAP
This EMOM was good, it really started to add up and I didn’t make the cutoff during the last 2 rounds. I made 8 Complete rounds. Round 9 was 8 DB Snatches + 3 Burpees & Round 10 was 8 DB Snatches + 4 Burpees
10min AMRAP @ 85% effort
8 Snatches @ 75#
I could really feel the 10 min EMOM in the lungs and breathing during this one. I did my best to stay moving and the limiting factor here was the breathing for sure. I completed 5 rounds, plus 8 snatches & 3 T2B.
8 DB 2arm Thrusters @ 45# ea hand + 6 Burpees AFAP
This was nearly impossible and was quite possibly the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m not sure if it was the DB thrusters or the combo of the 20 minutes of work before that made it so hard, but this one didn’t go well at all. I did my best to get as many thrusters as possible and not kill myself so that I could get more reps in the next minute. Like I said, this was HARD!
