Got some solid rest this weekend and felt good on Monday morning.
I was feeling great after the 80 minutes of cyclical work in the morning and was ready to rock in the afternoon.
A. HB Back Squat – 2,2,2,1,1; rest 3min (build to tough single, not 1RM unless you KNOW its going to happen)
When I first started squatting I wasn’t actually sure how the day was going to go, but as I got over 300 I was feeling pretty good and pretty strong, so I decided to try to go for it. I went 315-345-365-375-385PR. I might’ve been able to go above 385 based on how it felt and looked, but this was the last of my sets and I didn’t want to be too greedy. Videos are below.
B. Clean Grip 3″ Deficit DL – 5,3,1; rest 3min (pause & reset @ bottom, build, no straps)
This was hands down the best this movement has ever felt too. This work makes me really want to test my 1RM deadlift considering I easily pulled 405 with the deficit and clean grip and my 1RM is only 445. Pretty encouraging stuff right here. I went 345-365-405. Videos below.
C. Wtd. GHD Hip Extension – 4 x 8-10; rest 2min (increase load from May-11)
I went with a 45 lb plate here, they were difficult, but I made them all. The back is getting stronger. Videos below.
