Slept well, 8 hours including the 1 hour nap I took on the couch before I went to my bed at 10 pm. I felt good after a good rest day on Sunday.
Today was an excellent training day with all around great ICE.
A. Squat Snatch – 1 perfect rep every 90sec for 12 total reps @185-205# by feel
This went great. I hit 2 reps at 185 easily, 4 reps at 195 easily, missed the first 2 at 205, but made reps immediately after still inside the 90 seconds and only got strong through the last 4 reps. 205 is becoming routine, which is awesome. The catch is feeling better and better every time we snatch too. It was going so well at 205 I really wanted to just go for a 1RM, but I figured I better just stick with the program and move on. B. 1&1/4 Front Squat – 5 x 5; rest 3min (heavy across)
These were difficult as always, but I got some good work out of them. 1 set at 205, 3 sets at 225 & 1 set at 235. Videos below:
C. Overhead Squat @22×2 tempo – 5 x 3-4 tough reps; rest 2min
These were pretty tough too, the hardest part was holding the bar, not the squatting. I did all sets at 185. I must’ve got confused, I only did 4 sets or I only recorded 4 sets, can’t remember. Videos below:
D. Sotts Pres s- 4 x 5-6; rest 90sec (use final load from 7/7)
These were much better than last week. I got all 4 sets of 6 reps at 85 lbs and never really struggled. Videos below:
