Felt ok after the weekend. Still kind of beat up after all the manual labor on Saturday. Forearms & hamstrings were feeling it the most, but just some general fatigue in the legs.
Choice Cyclical – 80min @EN2
*mix & match modalities as you choose
The weather was great on Monday and we have been dog-sitting a boxer, so I spent a lot of this running with him. I ran for 30 minutes, AD for 15 minutes, row for 15 minutes, then ran again for the final 20 minutes. HR photo below.
Mobility – 20min
I think I ran into some of the fatigue from the weekend and from the 80 minutes of cyclical earlier in the day here and I couldn’t do what I expected I could do in terms of weight.
A. Push Press – 5,5,5; rest 2:30 (build to tough 5)
I made 185, 205 & only 3 reps at 225. I felt good, but I think I just couldn’t get as much out of my legs as I expected I could. Looking back, this looks like it ties a 3 rep PR though and is a 10 lb PR for 5 reps. Videos below.
B. HB Back Squat – 5,5,5; rest 2:30 (build to tough 5)
Same holds true here, I think my legs were a little more worn out than I knew. I went 315-335 & 4 (almost 5 reps) for another 335. I expected I would squat more than 335 for 5 reps, but I guess not this day. Videos below.
C. RDL – 5,5,5; rest 2:30 (mod-heavy across)
At this point I knew I wasn’t on my A game. I went for as heavy as I was comfortable holding for 5 good reps, which was 275. I did all 3 sets at this weight. Videos below.
D. Lying V-up – 5 x 15 UB; rest 2min
This was probably the best part of this session. I am getting much better at these V-ups. I guess I just needed a little more exposure to them. Video below.
