Felt good this morning. Knee was still a little tight when I woke up and my quads are still kind of tight, but everything is better than last night. I went to see our chiropractor at about 2 pm this afternoon and she worked on my quad, back of knee and then taped my knee with Rock Tape. It felt better immediately. Not 100%, but much better. I went to the gym directly from there to hit the workout.
A. Split Jerk – build to 1RM; rest as needed – 275 lbs
Worked up as follows 135-185-225-245-265-275(Fail)-275-285(Fail)-285(Fail)
These all felt really good and I think I have a lot left in me, I just need to get used to putting that much over my head. The first 275 miss was extremely close and I think I psyched myself out. The first 285 fail was bad, definitely all in my head, the second miss is the one I posted below and was way closer. I just need to know that I can make it and I will. My previous PR was 265 from behind the neck for an OHS, so I think this was a good session, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

B. S2O – 30 reps for time @ 70% of “A” – 7:00 @ 195 lbs
This went ok, but not great. I missed rep 30 at 6:10 because I couldn’t quite lock out my left arm and the weight was out in front of me. I was pretty tired, so I stripped the weight, put it back on the rack, reloaded it and then hit the last rep. I think I was using too much shoulder and not enough legs to get the bar overhead. This left my arms extremely tired and slowed me down. I also had some trouble bringing the bar back to my shoulders comfortably. I’m excited to get more work overhead and with moving heavy weight for more reps unbroken.
