Slept great last night and felt really good this morning. Went to the chiro and she worked on my forearms, lower back & rotator cuffs which were all crushed from 14.1. I’m a little down on the result of 14.1, but I did all I could, so I’ve gotta live with it and just do my best on the remaining WODs and hope for the best.
A. HB Back Squat @20×1 – 3 x 3; rest 3min (90%) – All sets at 315 lbs
This felt good, challenging, but not to failure. I haven’t high bar back squatted in awhile. I took my 3 rep max low bar BS of 365 as my guide for 90% and decided on 315. Videos below:
B. Wtd. Strict Pull-up @20×1 – 3 x 3; rest 3min (tough) – Completed at 70 lbs, 75 lbs & 80 lbs
These were really tough and I tried my best to take the 2 seconds on the eccentric movement, but I’m not sure if I was going slow enough. Videos below.
C1. CTB Pull-up – 3 x 20 reps for time; rest 30sec
C2. Thruster – 3 x 7 @ 135#; rest 2min
I really liked this short one. Did the whole thing unbroken and my C2B felt really good. I haven’t done a large set of them in awhile, so I was glad they were pretty smooth, came back easily and that I didn’t need to break them up. The 135 lb thrusters were good too, I lost my balance a little a couple times, so I need to focus on bringing that bar back to the front rack perfectly, but besides that they weren’t too challenging.
