Slept really well last night and felt good this morning so I decided to work today. After the weekend my biceps were extremely tight for two days and my back was pretty sore. Besides that though I didn’t feel too bad, my legs actually felt fine, which was a nice surprise.
A. Squat Clean – 3 x 126.96.36.199.1; rest 20sec + 3min (225-235-245)
This went extremely well. I felt really good today and my squat cleans were coming easily. I felt like if I went for a 1RM today I might set a PR.
B. Jerk – in 4 sets, build to 3RM; rest as needed – 225-235-245-255(Failed on 3)
These were good, but not great. I still need work turning these over quicker, but I’m getting more comfortable getting under the bar and bringing it down to the front rack position at high weights. I missed the 3rd rep at 255, I think I just didn’t get enough drive and then I didn’t pull under the bar quick enough to make up for it.
Clean & Jerk @ 185#
Muscle-up (This was supposed to be Burpee Muscle-Ups, but I totally spaced)
This went ok. I thought it was going to be much easier that it was. The clean & jerks were difficult. The muscle-ups felt good, but this combination was pretty deadly. It took everything I had to keep moving, each rep of C&J was hard and starting the MUs was difficult because my heart was going a mile a minute and my breathing was really heavy.
