Got some solid sleep over the weekend. Almost 11 hours on Saturday night and only 7 on Sunday night, but a nap after this workout too and some solid sleep on Tuesday night too.
Good training session, got a little distracted a few times, but very focused during the 20 reps for time and the burpee/thruster piece at the end.
A. Squat Snatch – build to tough single
Worked up to an easy 225 on my first attempt, but had trouble after that. I wasn’t feeling 100% like last week when I hit the PR, I went for 330 a couple times and couldn’t make it. Videos below:
B. Squat Snatch – 20 reps for time @ 77% of “A”
Compare to Dec-30
Completed this at 175 (165 in December). My time this attempt was 3:28 (3:01 in December). The struggle here was not the pulling, but the standing up after the catch. I did 8 in the first minute, but my legs felt crushed after the 10th rep at bout 1:20. The pace slowed considerably after that because I was worried I wouldn’t be able to stand up. Video is below:
10 UB Thrusters @ 135#
10 BF Burpees
x5 sets @ 80-85-90-95-100% effort by round
*record split times for each
This absolutely sucked. I think I did a good job pacing, but with only 90 seconds rest, what felt like 95 & 100% wasn’t quite as fast than the rounds before. My legs were on fire! Split times were 1:03-0:56-0:54-0:56-0:58. Video below:
