Our October Member of the Month is Caitlyn M.
Even though Caitlyn has only been a member at Cróga since the beginning of August, this award feels like it has been a long time coming. Since the day Caitlyn joined our gym, she has been dedicated to working hard and consistent attendance. It is very rare to not see her every weekday, plus at least 1 of the 2 days on the weekend. And with that consistent attendance (more than 22 classes a month), we have witnessed make some incredible improvements in strength, skill and overall fitness over a very short period of time. She is a role model for consistency and hard work and we are proud to call her our Member of the Month for October!
Here is a little Q & A with Caitlyn about her experiences here at Cróga CrossFit:
(Dave): When did you join Cróga?
(Caitlyn): I joined in August 2014 and have gone to class about 5 days a week ever since.
(D): What were you doing before for fitness?
(C): I had a membership at 24 that was a waste of money. I never went.
(D): What improvements have you seen in the way you look, feel and perform?
(C): I have lost about 20 lbs since I started. I can lift more weight then I ever thought possible. I can get through the WODs a lot faster and more efficient than I did in the beginning.
(D): What’s your favorite WOD?
(C): I still don’t really know what the names of the WODs are…
But, any WOD I can Rx, which isn’t very many, yet.
(D): What’s your least favorite WOD?
(C): Anything to do with wall balls is terrible.
(D): What do you love about CrossFit?
(C): I love pretty much everything about it. It is constantly varied. Anyone can participate. It gives you the best results. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of working out; however, I thoroughly enjoy doing CrossFit.
(D): What’s been your favorite culinary discovery since joining Cróga?
(C): Honestly, I haven’t changed a thing in my diet…
I don’t really know what “Paleo” means.
(D): What’s your biggest fitness goal for 2014?
(C): Well I kind of mastered double unders… I can do about 5 in a row, now. So my next fitness goal would probably be toes-to-bar and pull-ups.
(D): What words of advice do you have for new members or people considering joining Cróga CrossFit?
(C): I would have to say just get out there and do it!
Don’t knock it till you try it.
It’s hard but with the help of the coaches and the support of the other members, anyone can do it.
It can be scaled to fit everyone’s ability. It’s so fun and such a good workout.
In these last 3 months, I have seen more results than I have in my entire life doing anything else.
(D): 10,000 ring dips or 10,000 pull-ups?
(C): I guess pull-ups. I can’t really do either.
(D): Anything to add that we didn’t touch on yet?
(C): Yes. I would like to say thank you to all the coaches. Thanks for choosing me for member of the month and giving me an awesome jump rope! You guys have taught me so much and you make the classes so enjoyable.
Thank you to Laurie Tamura and her family for introducing me to Croga!
Croga has changed my life forever and I love it!
Also, I love Murph.
